I was 13. I was at my mammaw's house who lived next door to us. I had turned on the tv while my mom and aunt where with her in the kitchen. The announcement came on and i could not believe it. I remember running and telling them. I was not a great big fan of his music, though i liked the movies. But i live in Tennessee so of course I heard of him all the time.
