That happened to my Maddie once. It was on her back and oozing as you said. I took her to the vet and he pulled out a maggot. I nearly freaked out! They say it is more common in hot humid weather, so I suppose this would be a good year for them. Last summer my sister's dog had one. It seems to me someone else had one on here not too long ago. Maddie's bump healed up nicely once that ugly thing was removed! Good luck with your yorkie...I'm sure he/she will be fine! Now I've got to go search for the threads you found that ended badly.
