Presley was 7 when he had his first attack. And, it took about 2 weeks for him to get completely through it. He would hardly eat a thing at first. Ever since then he has had a couple of setbacks, but thankfully has gotten through them. Sometimes he will feel bad for 4 or 5 days, not really wanting to eat for about 2 of those days. We have about 1 bad flare up a year now. Our vet lets us manage it with medication and he usually recovers in a day or two. But if he vomits blood, we know its a bad episode and take him right into the vet. They can live with the condition, as Presley is now 16, as long as its managed properly. Hopefully your little puppy can pull through ok without reoccurrences. You have to be vigilent in not feeding it bad food. Even certain treats can trigger attacks. Its a learning process.
