I agree with all of the above. A long walk before you leave will tire them out for a lot of time you are gone. Keeping them in a room away from the front door and keeping the shades down will keep them from seeing and hearing what is going on outside but it is going to make for a very boring day for them. Having someone come in to walk them would sure help. When you get home I hope you are walking them vigorously at least two more times. Bored dogs develop habits that can be troublesome to you and your neighbors. They were not meant to sit quietly all day. If they must be alone all day then you need to make up the difference when you are home.
