I stopped giving my 10 y/o mix (shih-tzu/maltese/silky) shots years ago. I only give what's absolutely mandatory by law. I learned the hard lesson about vaccines 30 years past, when my precious daughter was injured by the dpt vaccine. She is now multi-challenged (severely retarded, non-ambulatory and non-verbal).
