I use to have to wrap Ruby up into a towel like a buritio'. Mostly so that she wouldn't get hurt struggling to get away.

She finally calmed down after several trimmings and grooming sessons and now sits and allows me to groom her without no issues.

You may want to try using clippers like a bustach or a smaller low voltage pair to reduce the flight instinct. Some of those can be very scarry for a little one.

My daughter distracts our dogs witg treats while I use a peanut wahl trimmer.
Maybe a trip to an experienced groomer is best for the first few times.
