I don't have a tearing problem but all these little ones should have their faces groomed daily. Gracie hates it when I try to comb her mustache and around her eyes. She is good for every other part of her grooming except her face.
If she is being particularly stubborn I take her chin hair in my left hand and hold it firmly. I don't twist or pull but I have it firmly enough that she cannot twist her head from side to side. That way I can get her combed out or wash her face with a damp cloth if need be without worrying about hurting her eyes. It is quick and she knows now not to fight me on this. Being beautiful isn't always easy.
