You can use sterile eye wash, I drip it on and let it set for a while, then check it and apply more if needed. Or you could use an opthalmic ointment, either antibiotic or a plain artificial tears ointment. Ointments will stay moist longer to help soften the gunk with less frequent applications. It can be painful as the hairs in that tender area tend to get ripped out if you try to comb the gunk out before it's softened up. |
