What I think is really neat is if you look at the picture you'll see a woman smiling over the right shoulder of the sailor. That woman smiling is who he was out on a date with & amazingly, they were married sometime after the photo was taken. They're still married...66 years & counting! |
Yeah its a very cool story! A local WWII,Vet bought and donated the statue to Sarasota. He still lives here today ( and was supervising after the accident
