I always do fecals on my puppies first, my girls do not carry worms to their litters, so is no need to deworm my puppies unless the fecal comes back positive, I don't beleive in giving the young pups so much poison if not necessary, but i know breeders that deworm without fecals just to say they did.
My mentor always say is a matter of personal choice for the breeder. I choose to test first.
