I am completely overwhelmed as I read all of your replies. Thank you so much. It is so heartwarming that all of you understand and "get it". So many people do not understand what our family is going thru. People say "Its just a dog"......makes me sick when they actually say that to my face. Gizmo was and always will be our baby. She changed our lives. And as "sickly" as she was, I like to think that she KNEW how much she meant to us. Over her short 10 year life, she had 2 total knee replacements, allergies, siezures, enlarged heart and numerous problems with her ears. The vet bills were extremely high, but she was worth every penny spent. I sit and watch videos of her and go thru every emotion there is. There is a hole in our hearts, because when we lost her, she took a piece of our whole family. She was a heartbeat at my feet..my best friend. My little shadow. My world will never be the same. She left her paw prints on my heart. |
