   Since he uses his paw in both ways- You may want to try Poochie Bells on your door so Chase can clearly tell you he wants to go outside. I trained Ziva using a similar homemade bell sytstem & she quickly learned to paw at the bell to tell me she needed to go outside. I also stopped using pads inside & used the schedule method in the potty training book already mentioned.  I also do not feed Ziva past 7pm & take her out before bedtime & do not use night pads. She has had no accidents during the night. Good luck!!
