Some things to look for in a good breeder are AKC registration, that they do health testing on the parents, the breeders know there lines and don't have Luxating patella in them which can be very costly to repair if they have and need surgery for it, both parents should be excellent examples of the breed following the standard for yorkies, puppies should be kept with mom for 12 weeks, you should be able to visit and see where the pups are being raised, they are not kept in out buildings or outside, there is a health garantee, the breeder will not breed mixes, they don't use words like teacup, and they wont breed many different types of dogs.
