I hired a pet sitter over a year, she comes several times a week. I am like you and many others here, I hate leaving them but I hired her JUST FOR SITUATIONS LIKE THIS..
My DH travels for business, i need someone i can trust to go INTO my home and take care of them at lunch when he is gone, sometimes i need her on weekends and whatever else, Dr appt's and such. She is the best. Im not sure when you are traveling, but call some over for an interview and give one a chance and see how they do with one another. At least you will know they are not being left w/ total stranger and feel a bit comfortable that they have been around each other...good luck |
A pet sitter is a great convenience. I would just make sure anyone coming into the home is bonded. That being a kind of insurance in case anything is missing, lost or stolen or broken. Of course that may not be necessary for someone who is hiring a family member or very close friend but a stranger......you need insurance.
