I think it is a good reminder to always be cognizant of your surroundings and choose appropriate leashes for the location. We use short 4' leashes for sidewalk walking in busy areas, 6' leashes for the neighborhood when I have 1 dog, and 30' leashes for open areas where I feel safe.

Max walked at my side for the first year. Now I'm happy as long as he doesn't pull.
