Would like to know if there is anyone who have been involved in situations like this. That is, a dog dying from damages in the head, caused by the the dog itself.

Yes, I have heard of this happening. It seems they hit their head just in a certain spot that can make this happen.
I know one person their dog ran into a tree while running around out side and the same thing happened.
