His coat and scent will improve with time and good food
If you do bathe him, just go slowly, maybe avoid the face area (a lot of dogs hate their face washed, just like little kids
) and talk/sing softly to him while bathing. Make sure to rinse very well
A little organic coconut oil mixed with his food will help with dry skin/hair.
