I have a pregnant yorkie that is about 4 lbs (before being bred), and I ran into a problem with her during her last heat cycle. We recently got a male schnauzer/chiwauwau mix. My brother was in charge of watching the two while I was out of the house (the yorkie had on a diaper for safety precautions) and the schnauzer mix ended up breeding her. I of course, instantly freaked out, because I know IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA to breed large males and small females. My grandmother is a dog breeder, and thinks that she is having a false pregnancy. She didn't start showing until about 2-3 weeks ago, and I mean she blew up in the time span of about 3 days. She had been pregnant before, but with a yorkie smaller or about her size, and it was her first time. She had some complications and sadly none of the pups servived. I'm mostly wondering when would be the best time to schedule her for a c-section. The last time she had pups was a year ago, and she went into labor about a week or so early. I'm a little overly dramatic and frigtened for her, and would love to hear any opinions on the matter.
