Depends on the area. But where I'm at Ticks aren't a problem unless you go into the brush. For a City/Suburban dog. Fleas aren't a problem with good diet and brushings. My dogs never get fleas except the few times the were kenneled. Then they just get a bath and bushings fleas are gone. IME dogs get alot of fleas if they are not brushed and have a poor diet. You can use a flea or nit comb after a bath and comb them all out and dispose of them JME
But if you have a flea out break for what ever reason. I find a flea/nit comb to be the best. You get each flea out. Dunno about the other stuff but has always worked for me.
