She got sick again a few days ago, in the house, but she was still eating and going potty normally. Yesterday she was fine all day. This morning, she dry heaved and now won't eat her Wellness dog food. She won't even eat chicken or bacon. She is still going potty like normal, and while outside, she chased chippies and tried to eat leaves and pine needles, which I promptly had her drop. I can hear her stomach gurgling and she seems restless. I plan to take her back to the vets tomorrow. Any ideas?
It could be an obstruction. My Ace just had similar symptoms. He also was not eating, he was holding down fluids, and was vomiting for several hours but he stopped vomiting. Ace always had a huge appetite so for him to not eat was odd. We thought it was just a stomach upset which he occasionally got. He also could not get comfortable but was running up the stairs and jumping on the couch and cuddling. He'd sleep sound for like 30 mins and then go to his dad to cuddle. He just couldn't get comfortable for long periods of time. Ace never puked for a couple days in a row though. Is she holding down fluids? Please make sure she is drinking water, get some unflavored Pedialyte.
To make a long story short the first vet we took him to misdiagnosed him and kept him overnight. We then had to take him to ER and they found it was an obstruction. He had eaten a huge hairball, we have no idea where he got that, he was closley watched, but Yorkies are very curious little dogs. My little Ace had to have surgery and passed away a few hours later to complications. I'm not trying to scare you but I think she needs looked at ASAP!
I'm not an expert so I can't say definitely, but I would definatley take her to a different vet and get a 2nd opinion. Do you have any ER vets around you? I would take her in today, because if it is an obstruction that needs taken out ASAP! Please keep me updated.
