The present owner really needs the money. You could offer less and she'd probably take it. It's an overall sad sad situation.

Perhaps you could make an agreement to have her evaluated by your vet before payment? She could even meet you at your vet's office with the pup.

IMHO, I think this woman probably knows more about the pup than she's letting on. It's one thing if it were her family pet that got pg and she couldn't handle the pup or pregnancy any more. But it's very convenient for her to deny any knowledge of the yorkie's condition because she got it from some stranger in SC. It may not even be a pregnancy - maybe some other health condition?? Or maybe the pup tied with another very big dog. Who knows?

If I purchased her, I'd take her to my vet and have her immediately spayed. In this situation, that's probably the most humane thing to do.
