It is with a heavy heart that I have come to the decision to not get a yorkie right now. I have been doing lots of research online and in books, lurking (and learning) here at YT since late last year with the plan of getting a yorkie at the end of the summer.
My MIL has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis (her lung tissue is turning to scar tissue, this is fatal
). She is allergic to dogs and has asthma so being around a dog will make her situation even worse than it already is. I know that a lot of people with dog allergies are ok around yorkies but I just can't take the chance. If I were to get a yorkie now she would never be able to come visit us again. She has been so wonderful to my family. I just can't be selfish about this right now.
Hopefully one day I will begin my search again for a little furbaby to love but for now it is goodbye.
