 Seizures
I have a 5 year old Yorkie, who has had seizures most of her life. We have done every test possible and the vets did not know how to treat her other than the phenobarbital. They said she was really too little to take that safely. A few months ago, I took her back to the vet and they called a specialist in Oklahoma City, who said that Keppra (used for humans) can now be prescribed to dogs. It is a miracle drug. She acts like a totally normal dog. I am not afraid to leave her alone, now. I just wanted to share this information. We have to have it compounded at a pharmacy in Conway, Arkansas and mailed to us. I wish someone would have shared this with me. If anyone wants more information, just respond and I will tell you the details. |
