Thor somehow manages to be a finicky glutton. Anything rotten in the streets is desirable. Dog food, no. Filet mignon, if cut into tiny little pieces, yes. If it's too big for him to eat in under a minute, no.
I have a lot of trouble finding things for self entertainment, since bones generally do not fall into the < 1 minute consumables category. I used to give him flossies after I boiled them soft, but he didn't really seem to be chewing them at that point.
I went to a picnic with him last weekend and he made off with maybe 1/5 of a cob of corn. He ate the corn and kept right on chewing. Since it was cooked all the way through, he was able to eat the entire thing. He pooped just fine over the next few days, all though way, way more poop than usual.
I tried giving him another piece last night, and he happily chewed his way through the entire thing. Still seems fine, still pooping healthy, still way more poop than usual. Does this seem reasonable? Obviously if it's small enough, it's a choking hazard, but the corn cob basically has no nutrition, right?
