Default "I dont think he likes me"

It's no secret that my doxie/yorkie cross is 'my' dog. I do 90% of his care, because well, i'm the one who wanted a dog. We got him as a 10 week old puppy, and I'm home all day, so he took to me quickly. None of that is a surprise to me.

He is still very fond of my Sir. He cuddled with Sir before he ever took to cuddling me. He'll greet Sir at the door, wagging his tail so hard we're afraid it will fall off. He'll hop up on the laz-e-boy and snuggle in, and god forbid Sir and I want to cuddle from that position. If he's not 'protecting' me, he's fending me off so he can have Sir all to himself.

I've had trouble convincing Sir that the dog genuinely likes him, despite all the evidence to support my claim. Well, last night, Sir was having night terrors, so I woke him up, made him some tea, and ran him a bath. The dog hopped up on the ledge of the tub, and skittered back and forth on it, placing his paws on Sir's back occasionally for about a half hour. He couldnt make a full circuit of the tub because of the faucet, and this distressed him, and he finally jumped full on into the tub, sat down, and curled up, with his head on Sir's leg.

This from the dog who wont go outside to pee in the rain, from the dog who begrudgingly tolerates his baths, who wont walk on grass for fear of dewy paws. Not only did he hop in, he curled up next to him, all but his head under water, so he could offer comfort in the only way he knew how.

He likes you, he really likes you.
