My first car was the VW Rabbit Convertible, which they re-named the Cabriolet. Our Airedale loved riding around town with the top down. We lived in a small town and there wasn't much traffic, so it was a bit safer than it is today.
VW has 3 convertibles, but not the Cabriolet anymore.
