A heart dog, well I will share what I experience, is one that literally speaks to your heart. THere is a bond, a connection, that is very very special and unique. When I first held a six week old puppy to my chest, weeks before he was to become "mine", I literally felt my heart expand. He laid his head down and nestled into my neck; despite being very active and curious just 2 moments before. We are not quite "inseparable", but there is no where he rather be than with me. Even just a simple trip in the car to the store, is just a fine and happy occasion outing. He knows when I am unwell, and or sad.
Just be open hearted to another young pup. She will never be Duchess, but she will be her own special and unique self.
You've already received a suggestion to go to the www.ytca.org site, as time goes on more posters will read your post, and may have some personal recommendations for you.
$300 in 1998, well I hope you know that Yorkies that are well bred will cost a lot more 14 years later.
Anyhow welcome again. And good luck with your search. |
I think gemy said a lot in this post. And it was very well said! As I was reading I felt like she was describing how I feel about my Rosie. Be open to a new pup and understand that each Yorkie is different and unique from each other. Your new pup will never replace Dutchess. But you can have your own special bond with this pup too! Yorkies are a wonderful breed.
As the others said, find a good breeder. It is easy to find one from a BYB for a lot less money. However, it will cost you more in the long run.
Good luck on your search! And welcome to YT!
