I can understand that you are upset. Getting a puppy is a very emotional thing. I think you are from Sanford Fl. ? If so, in Fl. Puppies in Fl. must be 8 weeks old, free from internal and external parasites and have a health certific from a Vet at the time of the sale. Sadly, If you buy a puppy from a private person and not a pet store, you have 72 hours to return the puppy if it is NOT healthy, and get a full refund. If you keep the puppy after 72 hours the bills and puppy are yours.
This allows people to have their own Vet check and verify health. Sellers are have been sued for Vet costs and have been given judgments to pay for the first Vet visit if the puppy was returned to them. (My daughter In-law is a lawyer and had her LA check on this a few years ago )
