This is where you must have a working nowledge of YOUR lines and the female's lines, and the particular pedigrees behind both dogs. If you have an absolutely exquisite, top notch male, with a pedigree that is HEAVY with outstanding lines, and the same with the female,, and you know what these dogs throw, you may be able to breed these two and have absolutely gorgeous, babies, well within the standard.....you CAN NOT just take two dogs, get the male smaller than the female, breed them, and come out with babies that conform to the breed standard......it is what is BEHIND these two dogs, for many generations, that will determine what the babies look like! THAT is what "BREEDING" is all about....pedigrees and knowing them thoroughly...what mixes and what doesnt...and you can STILL get flukes!!!
