Default urgent medical advice needed

I have a two year old female yorkie, Three weeks ago she started following walls and bumping in to things....I took her to the local vet and he gave her meloxicam.....no effect, three days later she got even worse...notable decrease in vision and excessive drooling...went back to the vet did complete blood work...no issues, temperature normal, requested antibiotics and prednisone....just because online research led me to think some kind of encephalitis was at play. we had to go out of town and borded her with the vet for a week...she seemed to have good days where the drooling stopped....he twice gave her intervenous...the first time with just electrolytes i think...and the second was with some kind of chemo drug......I suspect he discontinued the prednisone with in a day or two after we had dropped her off, when we picked her up he gave us prednisone eye drops to give her. so anyway yesterday morning she was acting a little better...still lathagic and not seeing well but improved and ate well...but this morning she is back to bad again...paced all night, bumping in to things....following the walls and drooling like mad....probably could soak a klenex in minutes. Vet has no idea....we just forced a 5 mg prednisone tablet because she can not eat this morning...mouth is open, zero interest in favorite yummys so I am thinking this might be the end unless someone has one last thing to try.
