Here are some things I would suggest: If he's not already, neuter him and then start a corrective training program wherein he's not allowed to lift his leg without a corrective "uh oh" & gentle redirection away from the furniture and prevent him from leaving your sight until his tendency to lift has abated. Marking is awfully instinctive but so is chasing squirrels and cats and you can train a dog to stay put even when their instinct is urging them to chase that squirrel. I would clean the furniture with the cleaner that removes urine protein and then have a professional cleaner finish up on any furniture he's already marked, denying him access to those rooms for a good 2 or 3 weeks after the cleanings. Play with him extra and take him for extra walks during these times so he stays played down and not so likely to mark out of something to do. Usually it is a a bad habit that starts with an instinct but both can be overcome with determined, patient, loving and never angry training away and a good potty training program, taking them out frequently.
