Just a shameless brag: Out of about 20 dogs in a fastest-sit competition during a special dog event in town Saturday, Eddie and Jillie finished first and second after three rounds of competition!

Each of them squared off against 4 dogs in the first two best-of-3-sit rounds. Vanquishing all their foes -- all big dogs -- they met in a championship sit-off between the two of them.

Jillie, who is all of about 7 1/2 inches tall, whupped Eddie with the fastest sit, winning a goodie bag of treats, toys and a gift certificate.

I didn't get any pictures of them in competition, but here Jillie is being carried away by my wife after claiming the prize. Notice how she's sticking her tongue out at Eddie
