I wasn't there with him when he passed away either, and it breaks my heart that I wasn't there to hold him and tell him how much I loved him, etc. I just received his ashes on Monday, so Duke is back home with me, right where he belongs.

I'm sure that in time we will both feel better, but it's getting through this really difficult time that is really painful.

My family and I will keep you in our prayers.

RIP Chloe.
So sorry. I just lost my baby Ace at the young age of 4. He ate a huge hairball that recked havoc on his small intestine. He spent the night at at the Vet after they misdiagnosed him as having a stomach virus. Next day we rushed him to ER, he had an obstruction. He survived surgery but passed away a few hours later to sepsus and developed fluid in his little lungs.
I, too, wish I could've held him when he passed away. I don't want him to think mommy and daddy left him, but that's what I think he feels. So horrible and tragic. I would give all the money in the world for one more day with Ace.
