Hi Lila! I too have had floaters for donkey's years (!!!) but have never experienced the bright lightning flashes

According to my doctor, floaters are usually caused by an upset or imbalance from somewhere else in your body, the kidneys for example...and there's not a lot that can be done.

My daughter always gets the lights and flashings shortly before she gets a migraine...do you suffer with those? Sally x
