I haven't read through all the responses yet. But I'm at camp right now and on my daughters iPad 2. Why do you have to pay to tether it to your phone? Which is by the way how I'm online right now. I love this iPad and so do my kids. The only difference with the 2 and 3 is the camera quality. The 2 is fine for all of our needs. My daughter really puts this to use. And we all use it for one thing or another. I say it's worth it.
