Making sure your house is clean is a wonderful thing, but the chances of anyone in your house getting infected are slim to none. Part of the tapeworm's life cycle requires it to live in a flea. It just can't go from dog to dog, or from dog to human. It has to go from dog to flea and back to a dog, or from dog to flea to human, etc. In order for you or your pet to get this tapeworm, you would have to swallow a flea that is infected with tapeworms. Your big concern is making sure there are no fleas, get rid of them and you will prevent re-infestation of the tapeworms.
