Default Adding a second

It sounds like your dog is VERY well socialized which is definitely an advantage!!

I have a 2 1/2 year old yorkshire terrier/poodle mix female who is very attached to me. She is unfortunately a bit afraid of other dogs. Since she had such an attachment to me, we decided to get her a playmate.

Two weeks ago we went to pick up our 12 week old male Biewer puppy who we named "Rowdy". Our dog ignored him for 4 days straight (would not even look at the puppy). Then on the 5th day she began playing with him!!! We were so pleased.

It has only been 2 weeks but we are already so glad we added another yorkie! We chose opposite sex because I had not had a boy dog and had read so many positive comments from boy dog owners that I wanted to try one. I was also a little apprehensive about having 2 females- although it has worked for many others, I was scared it might not work for me.

Good luck with figuring out what to do- I look forward to hearing what you decide!
