Hi, I have a five year old yorkie, who has been my baby. Now that my youngest is going off to college, I was in your shoes. I thought about getting another yorkie, but felt guilty of my other one getting jealous, or depressed and sad. But, I did I! Went and got another yorkie pup, and that was a nightmare. Not getting one, the fact I got screwed finding one from a puppy mill / broker. She was sick, and I'm trying to get her better now. Nothing too serious other then the fact all the info I got from broker is false.
I love my new pup to death even more so. I've had her almost three months. My older yorkie hated the fact there was another dog in the house and wanted nothing to do with her for the first few weeks. But now he figured, she's not going anywhere, so better get use to it. I do have to buy two of everything now, such as toys treats clothes and stuff like that. But I don't mind spoiling my fur babies. Now they play, chase and even sleep in our bed together. They even share a stroller together when they go out.
My older yorkie is kind of a anti social guy anyway, so its good for him to have a playmate. They love being together everywhere. Car rides, stroller, sleeping together, and playing together. So, i think you'll be fine with a new puppy. Sorry this was so long. Good luck in finding your new fur baby! It'll be a starting all over again, but wonderful!
