Go through a good rescue Visit with the foster and get a slightly older dog. They are in need of love, they have personality to spare, and many are potty trainind already. I have an 11 y/o that was 9 when I got him and an 8 y/0. They both play. They both give all the love and affection a person could want. The Older guy does'nt bark unless he hears my car in the driveway, and Titus barks only at the door when there is someone there or the UPS truck goes by. other than that quiet sweet babies...who are great snuggle bugs at night too. One potty trained outside, the other is pee pad trainind.
