@ Yorkietalkjilly, thanks so much for responding.
1. Your 1st suggestion, I had just started the night prior to your post. I now watch Bear more closely to see how much he is drinking. I also feed him earlier so that he has time to eliminate prior to bedtime.
2. I do watch him when he goes out to potty. I make sure that he does all of his "business" before he can come back in. He's pretty good about that.
3. No, he's not peeing in the house. When I leave him for long periods of time, he's restricted to one room only so I would be able to see any piles or wet spots. I think his older brother & sister influence him to keep the area clean. The wee-wee pad is always dry when I return, so none of them eliminate while I'm gone. As soon as I let them out, all 3 of them run to the yard to do the do! Thank God that's not an issue!!
4. I still plan to talk to the vet, just in case.
5. I live in Southern California where the climate is quite warm. Sometimes I think he gets up at night just to drink water. It's hard for me to deny him when it's so hot. I allow him a small amount of water just before bedtime.
6. I started making changes 2 nights ago and so far he's showing some change. Tuesday night he slept until 6:30am and Wednesday night he slept until 6:00am. He's trying. This is much better than 3:00am!!!
You gave me a lot to consider and so far I do see some improvement. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for your help. |
