I made up my own concoction to repel fleas, ticks and biting insects. I haven't used it yet but, my daughter has. She has a boxer that is VERY sensitive to bites...poor guy has gotten hives twice, scratched himself until he bled. Maine has those green horse flies that bite bad! Because his skin is so sensitive she sprayed his collar with the spray I made...He never got one bite! I used 10 drops of peppermint oil, 10 drops of lemongrass oil and 10 drops of lavender oil, (all flea tick and insects repellents) added these to a cup of water and put in a spray bottle. this is also supposed to work on humans as well...,Of course it has to be applied more often but, I feel it's better than putting chemicals on our furbutts.
