You should try it! It's pretty fun when you get the hang of it.
it's a really large board and it's made to help you balance so after a few times practicing I'm sure you would be fine. Once you've got it down grab Jackson a lifevest (unless he already knows how to swim) and just take time to teach him not to jump in the water.
go really in the morning so you both don't get hit. Lilo and I go kayaking if not paddle boarding. Both are lots of fun!
