Tia is like that too, so I really only end up able to pull her hair up after her bath, while she's wrapped in a towel and being held by my husband. What I am doing is brushing her "top knot" hair every day and putting little clips in it when I can. I figure this way she is a little more used to me messing with it, and when there is enough to pull up into a band, she won't be so surprised.

When I put it in a band now, there really isn't enough hair to do much with, so the clips look a little better anyway - Tia's hair is kind of thin on top.
