I had two good size nodules that we watched for several years. I had them needle biopsied 5 years before my surgery and they were fine. Then the nodules seemed to grow, so I had them removed. She took half my thyroid and only two parathyroids, so I take no medicine. My surgeon took enough of my thyroid so that I would not have to repeat a surgery if the nodules came back cancerous(which they did not)
. My biggest complaint was that my throat was sore for a good 10 days and I had no voice. I was very hoarse for a good week. I still have a little scar but it's not two bad. Good luck...if you have questions just pm me.
