Well with six possible pups coming, I'd definitely have my vet on speed dial. Hopefully she is young and healthy, with a broad pelvis. Did your reproduction vet say anything about the size of the pups and her pelvic width?

Just make sure you time everything when the contractions and birthing starts. Sometimes with the last one or two pups, there can be a much longer time between births. Don't let her go over 1hr - get to the vet. Many sites will say 1.5 or even 2hrs; but I like the 1hr; by the time you load up the car and travel to the vet another 30minutes are gone.

Good luck with your whelp, and definitely with 6pups she will need calcium supplements.
