fusible interfacing: two ways to apply, This is applied with heat from an iron. The first way uses more interfacing but is easier to not get it on your iron. Cut out a piece of fabric that is a bit bigger than your pattern piece,iron the interfacing to the back of the fabric and then lay your pattern piece and cut out. You will still need another piece of fabric for a lining. When sewn together the interfacing will be hidden between the garment fabric and the lining.
The other way is usually how the instructions are written. Lay pattern on fabric,cutout,then cutout a piece of interfacing to match and iron onto the back of fabric. I find that this takes longer and can be a bit messy.
