Hi. I'm new here and registered specifically to see if I could get some help from some experts on a Sunday....
I am the proud owner of a Biewer Yorkie and recently decided to get her a playmate. We found another gorgeous girl and fell in love! She is a year old and an absolute love bug! Prior to adopting her, the breeder told us that she had bred her (I was a bit aghast at this as she is only 12 months old), but they had taken her to the vet for a sonogram and it didn't take. So, we adopted her and brought her home 2-3 weeks ago. This morning, I was playing with her and watching her run around the living room and I thought she sure looked 'full'. Like she had gained weight over night! I checked her under belly to make sure all was well and here she has a 'pot gut' and her glands are very swollen.

This is a bit of background leading up to my question....
I went through her paperwork again and correspondence with the breeder and she would have had the sonogram done at approx. 15-17 days after she was bred. If the breeding would have taken she would be due in another 20 days I believe. Is it possible that the sonogram was wrong? Was that too early to tell? Or could this be a false pregnancy and if so, what should I look for?
I took the breeders at their word so didn't have her checked for pregnancy with my vet, but am going to do that now (asap) to be sure, but just wanted to seek out some advice or anything here that could give me peace of mind. I'm kind of scared.

Thanks for any advice, info. etc.
