I guess $ is relative to the person spending it. I would rather see a reputable breeder get several thousand dollars for a healthy dog than some movie star get millions of dollars and unending royalties for 300 hours of "work". And then talk about how they spent $30 mil on a wedding that lasted a few thousand hours and oh, when they talk about how hard their jobs are - pul-eezzzzzze. And when I go to the movie to see their overly weird, overly violent or nude "masterpiece", have to pay upwards of $15.00 for a ticket just to get inside for 90 mins.
At least people that spend the money on a fine Yorkie are getting a beautiful companion added to their lives that will give them something fine for life.
