The handle is inappropriate for restraint, and most folks fumble around trying to figure out if the lead is "out" in the locked position or not. Flexileads, do have a use, and that is in a secure environment when you are training come/recall, and want to let your dog go out 10/15/20 feet ahead of you. |
Agree. I really dislike flexi-leashes. I have seen them break, I have witnessed a dog run into the street while on a flexi, and sadly have sent a sympathy card to a friend who's tiny poodle was hit by a car when the flexi broke when the dog darted after a lizard. When I teach puppy basics I tell all my students to throw away a flexi , if they have it. We use step in harness and plain old cloth leash in class.
