Default Who has flown with their Yorkie?

Hi all,

I am going to Alaska (my home) for a month to get married. I am leaving in about two weeks.

I am still on the fence about taking my boy, Bowser, with me. If I fly with him,it's going to cost me about 450 in airfare round trip. However, he would have a blast on vacation with me and I would really like him to be my ring bearer. His caretaker just informed me she is going on vacation and her boyfriend will watch Bowser for the last portion of the trip, which I am honestly not comfortable with.

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone had experiences, tips, or opinions about travelling with your pet in cabin? Also, can someone please recommend a good kennel for me? His is too big.

He is very good about new places and car rides, and normally very good about being in his kennel. My concern is that it is a LONG travel time, 21 hours. It's a 5 hour flight, a 3 hour flight, then a 6 hour flight. There are about 3 hours in between flights and I am fairly confident all my airports have pet relief areas.

I will talk to the vet, but what do you think about sedative? For maybe just the last portion of the flight? I am just worried he will get restless/upset at being stuck in his kennel for so long.
